We designed New Moon for people who are passionate about food, particular about coffee and sensitive to ambiance.

Our goal was to make a cup of espresso so authentic, you’d think you were in Firenze. Our espresso machine is handmade in Italy, and we faithfully follow the methods of the Italian baristas.

At the same time, we love local. Our restaurant is designed to delight locavores, vegans and other health-conscious eaters. As members of the Vermont Fresh Network, we use fresh produce from local farms and cheese makers when seasons permit.

Our local suppliers include:

  • Champlain Creamery: organic cream cheese
  • Vermont Butter & Cheese: goat cheese
  • Red Hen Bakery: organic bread
  • Vermont Soy: organic tofu
  • Black River: organic produce
  • Shadow Cross: eggs
  • Monument Farms: dairy
  • Lionsgate Farm: basil
  • Cabot: cheese & sour cream

We bake our own muffins, scones, cookies & bagels every day in our kitchen upstairs from New Moon cafe.

We’re constantly trying to outdo ourselves.  For example, we created a vegan menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner – available every day in addition to our regular menu. New Moon coffee shop is now a vegan restaurant within a restaurant! Our breakfast menu has expanded too, and if you haven’t had our soups lately, please check out our all-new recipes.  Today’s selections are always posted on our counter.

The fare at New Moon cafe lends itself to the take-out lifestyle. Everything can be packaged to go – breakfast, lunch, and dinner! And don’t miss our cooler with gourmet take-out salads at the far end of our service area.
